Puja means worship/prayer/ritual performed by Hindus to honour deities, or to spiritually celebrate an event. In Hinduism, puja is done on a variety of occasions - daily puja, temple ceremonies and annual festivals, to lifetime events such as birth of a baby, a wedding, or the beginning of a new business venture.

This Puja Thali (Thali means a plate) would come in very handy during a puja.  First, it has beautiful glazed stones, which are placed all round the rim. The use of bright stones and bright colours tends to uplift one’s mood, which is so essential during prayer. Secondly, the puja thali has 2 katoris (containers) – one for roli (red coloured substance required while doing ‘tika’) and the other one for chawal (rice grains). The Thali also has more space in which other things such as prasad (offering), agarbatti (incense) can be kept.

Looked at from the perspective of a romantic, the 2 katoris can be filled with wax and then be used for a candlelight dinner.
